Tackling two Mercedes Benz restoration projects in 2016

There's something about me and giving new life to vintage/things from the past. It gives me great sense of achievements every time I finished some restoration projects.

In 2016 I have a plan to restore two Mercedes-Benz, one is W110 190c from 1963, and the other one is W123 200 from 1986.

I was commissioning the restoration project of W110 to the wrong mechanics, that's the main reason I wanted to redo the whole process

Based on my experience the engine is so lack of power and I have problems every time I have to tackle hilly roads. So that's the main reason why I wanted to swap to engine to a better performance engine.

At first I was focusing to by japanese car manufacturers engines. Legendary engines like Mitsubishi 4D56 and Toyota 7K was my first options.

But after several discussions I decided to swap engine with Mercedes Benz engine from newer era.

At first I was looking only at the engines available in many junkyards, but eventually I decided to buy a project car with good running engine.

So it was actually unplanned for me to restore the Mercedes Benz 200. And I have a good opportunity to acquire an OM 617 300 D engine in a very good condition, which I planned to install it in this W123 200 car

The body of project car surprisingly very solid, the floor deck is intact with only minor rust near the throttle pedal. The side panels, trunk, and engine bay are in perfect conditions. The only negative side the car doesn't have interior, because the owner already sold it due to high demand thus high price.

Wish me luck guys :)
